The Malamute of Alaska
The Malamute of Alaska, raised by the tribe of Maliumiut " Man living in the place where there are big waves ". It is one of the heaviest and of the most powerful. One often calls it " the locomotive of snows ".
It is also the least fast, but, it has an excellent reputation in the history of the polar investigations. Of general aspect, it is a strong and tall dog.

Male measure on average from 55 to 65 cms and about 45 kg weighs. He carries a mask in shape of cap the height of the head and around the eyes. The eyes in shape of almonds are always brown. The independent character requires a very firm education. But, one can make a very affectionate companion of it but rather made to live in pack.

The Samoyed
It is probably the most close to the primitive dog. He results from the tribe of Samoyeds, people not far from the Lapland. This tribe used it for a long time as dog herdsman for the crowds of Rennes. It is an affectionate sweet dog but he is most to jappeur huskies. The Samoyed is an at the same moment sturdy and graceful dog. The white hair is long and very supplied. Eyes in almonds are of a dark brown. The size is about 57 cms. For males and 53 cms. For females.

groenfra The Greenlander
This race results from peoples Inuit of Greenland. It is the dog, as the dog Inuit of Canada, the most rustic and, par excellence for the expeditions in arctic. The Admiral Peary for his conquest of the North Pole in 1909 and Admundsen in 1911 for the south pole used this kind of dogs. It is also these dogs which were the companions of Paul-Emile Victor in the numerous arctic expeditions.

In 1913, the first Greenlanders were imported in Switzerland for the construction of the railroad line of Jungfrau, for the daily transport of the goods. The body is very muscular. He has the powerful jaw, the ears short and raised forwards. The long, thick hair, is also heavy to the touch. The most met colours are the white body and the head coal or the black body and the white head. There are different types following the regions of Greenland. That of the west coast is heavier, stronger, that of the coast is smaller and faster Ammassalik. It is the dog which needs a lot of authority but it is very sociable with the human being.

The dog Inuit of Canada, called formerly Qimmiq.
It is totally similar to the Greenlander. The same type and the same character, its shape gets closer that of the coast a lot is. Very fighter with his colleagues, he is jealous but respects the human being. It is necessary to be very firm in its education from the youngest age. One found there in every arctic Canadian, but in the appearance of the snowbike, the true race disappeared. Fortunately, certain breeders protected this race. I have it personally five which result from a breeding Inuit of Nunavik.

huskyfra The Sibérien-Husky
It was raised by the tribe Inuit of the Tchouktchis which came from the northeast of Siberia. Region of the lake Baikal. The name " Husky " meant at his time, made hoarse. It results from the roaring made hoarse by this dog which gets closer to that of the wolf. To Tchouktchis the dog was very respected. They already protected the race by authorizing only subject checks to reproduce.

The Russians, in 1867 , sell to the Americans the territory Alaskan and one finds these Tchouktchis's same tribes in Alaska after they crossed the strait of Bering. It is 1908, that the American William Goosak, the trader of fur, imports the Husky's first harness. Then, afterward one finds these same dogs in the running All Alaskan Sweepstake, thanks to a young Scotsman of Fox Maule Ramsey's name. Later, Olaf Swenson, big user of huskies, returned on the coast is from United States, four of these best Husky. And, it is under the impulse, with Arthur Walden, that these dogs were going to conquer and to dominate the journeys in North America. The first standard of the race of Sibérien-Husky was published in 1932 by Américan Kenel Club. Afterward the standard was modified and recognized in 1939 by the Canadian canine Club. It is a very charming dog, but at the same moment very independent. One accuses wrongly him too often of aggressiveness. It is absolutely false to attach him this label. Not only he has no aggressiveness but he loves the children. It is himself a big player, but it does not support the injustice.

" There is no bad dog, there is only bad boss "

A person who becomes an owner of a dog has new responsibilities and too often one a dog buys to please the children, or to express itself through the dog. While educating the dog one should explain to the children the behavior which he should have to the future companion.

Some small main rules to be given to the children. One should never surprise a dog from behind, you risk to frighten him.
Please , avoid the abrupt movements. To avoid pulling him ears, truffle, tail, it is so many sensitive things for the dog that he does not like be ground. But, before a child plays with a dog, I always recommend to ask the boss of the dog how is the dog. It is supposed to know him. I see still too often children who chase the dog, pull ears, sometimes launch even pebbles, and regrettably it is there that the accidents arrive. And naturally one accuses the dog!

Sibérien-Husky is independent. He is a hunter and has the very developed intuition. Under a coat of very thick snow it is capable of following a track in the smell left by the animal, even after several days. It goes hunting for its pleasure and by instinct. Sibérien-Husky is an absconder, in search of big escapade solo or together with his accomplices. It is also a dog of pack, with a hierarchy established well within the pack or within the clan.

Yes, the husky is a dog of pack. He likes so living in some, in community, and when the pack is important there is himself a hierarchy. One finds so dominant dogs and dominated dogs. And, among the dominant, one is going to find the leader.

This instinct of dominion, one already finds him at the young puppy from the age of 6 weeks. In a big pack one can have clans and every clan indicates the dominant dog. The attitude of submission to the husky and the same that to the wolf. The dominated dog lies on its back, four paws in the air, and presents its throat.

When a fight starts, the dog always tries to catch the other one in the nape of the neck or in the throat. Furthermore, he tries to knock down and to put in earth his opponent by bitting him into thighs and into paws. As soon as the leader is indicated all the others submit themselves to the superiority.
